Pode-se ler em várias placas em torno do local (Mina da Água) que foi ali que no dia 07 de Setembro de 1966 25 bombeiros se refugiraram depois de se verem encurralados pelo fogo que lavrava na Serra, na esperânça de ficarem a salvo, o que não resultou.
Nas imagens podemos ver a entrada da Mina e as placas que relembram as vitimas.
