New Hope Cemetery sits on the east side of Highway 18, one mile south of the intersection of Highways 18 and 62. This cemetery is located on gradually sloping land, and has only a few trees. There is no fencing. The entrance is flanked by two light-colored brick walls.
Amid the 780 headstones in this cemetery, is this homemade marker which is made of iron. Mounted on five metal rods, there is a flat, inverted horseshoe approximately 28 inches high. Inside this shoe is a metal cross, with a cowboy kneeling on one knee, holding his hat against the other. This is similar to a well known depiction which sometimes also shows a horse.
At the base of the horseshoe are black and white adhesive numbers reading "1946 to 2010". Beneath this, two wood panels are attached to the support rods, which read "EDGAR GREEN BELOVED HUSBAND FATHER GRANDPA".
