We came to this marker from the reverse side, but when we looked on the other side (the U.S. Hwy 12 side), we saw the extensive planting that made this a nice tribute by the city and the Garden Club. The park is located at the intersection of U. S. Highway 12 (West Chicago Road) and North Centerville Road. According to the city web site, it is 3.7 acres in size and was originally built as a tribute to those who served in World War I. Source: (
