V brnenské botanicke zahrade na Konecného námestí muzete najit jeden z mala exeplaru tohoto druhu v Cechach.
Metasekvoje cínská (Metasequoia glyptostroboides Hu & W.C.Cheng, 1948) je opadavý jehlicnan z celedi tisovcovitých. Do doby jejího objevu se melo za to, že tento rod rostlin, žijící na konci druhohor a v tretihorách, vyhynul asi pred 70 miliony let, nebot byl znám pouze ze zkamenelin. Jedná se tedy o tzv. živoucí fosílii.

In botanical garden at Konecného námestí (Konecný square) you can find one of this rare species tree in Czech Republic.
Metasequoia glyptostroboides, is one of three species of conifers known as redwoods. It is native to the Sichuan-Hubei region of China. Although shortest of the redwoods, it grows to at least 200 feet (60 meters) in height. Local villagers refer to the original tree from which most others derive as Shui-sa, or "water fir," which is part of a local shrine. Since that tree's rediscovery in 1944, the Dawn Redwood has become a popular ornamental.
