This attractive and new looking Buddhist wat is found on the highway between the provincial capitals of Chiang Rai and Phayao, in northern Thailand. The wat entrance is right on the main road. Upon entering one will see a large courtyard filled with Buddhist imagery, and the ordination hall.
Strangely, when I visited, midday on a weekday, there were no other people present, not even monks. The name of the temple 'Sai Cowl', I am told, translates into English as 'White Sand'. A rather attractive Wat, worth a stop along the way to the city of Chiang Rai.
