Yin And Yang is a sculpture on the campus of U.C. Davis, done by Robert Arneson in 1989. It's one of five sculptures by Arneson on the campus.
This sculpture is in front of the Drama Building on campus. It consists of two heads, one laying on its right side And the other in a normal head position. They are arranged on a circular tiled patio.
The vertical head asks Zippy if he's running for president again this year. Zippy says "Yes, but I'm afraid my religious beliefs will hamper me." For Zippy belives that we will all spin forever in a washing machine after we die and that we will all become bowling balls after we die! The horizontal head says that is no weirder that other biblical tales. Zippy is so moved that he asks the head to be is vice presidential running mate.
Interestingly, cartoonist Bill Griffith reuses the same drawing in all three panes of this cartoon strip that were used in the December 13, 2001 Zippy strip.
