"Erbaut: um 1700
letzte Renovierung: 1984
Standort: Obern
Kapellen-Heiliger: Marienkapelle
- Quelle: (

Chapel saint: St. Mary's Chapel
Today's upper chapel dürfete be a Zweitbau, ie It was built at the site of a much older chapel, whose foundations were found next to the new building. Equipped with eight Betbänken, the neat chapel offers space for around 20 people.
The altar, which is protected by a high iron fence, is dominated by a three-part altarpiece: It shows links to search for shelter by Joseph and Mary, in the middle of the Adoration of the Shepherds, the right worship of the Magi. The foot of the altar shows the Annunciation and the Flight to Egypt. Left at the altar one finds an interesting inscription: "St. George stelt himself as a knight for one of your marther death do us in heaven."
Two statues of Our Lady - a wax and a dressed Madonna in a shrine - also belong to the equipment.
A Madonna statue on the altar is described as a replica of the Weeping Madonna of Syracuse.
The chapel has no paintings on the ceiling, but 14 Stations of the Cross on small wood panels. On the outside of the chapel stands a statue of Saint John with book.
Previously, in the upper chapel in the morning, noon and night ringing the Ave. Today this is done only at night. The nine owners of the farm hamlet of superiors get this in a nine-year cycle. Our own so-called chapel letter - over 140 years old - sets the order in which the farmer must each obtain the Aveläuten by one year.
Earlier in the chapels were still held far more devotions: Until 25 years of praying in the upper chapel each Sunday from Easter to All Saints' an evening rosary. Even in the 60s led at St. Augustine's Day (28 August) a procession to the Chapel "- Source:. (
