Oklahoma has an outstanding outdoor warning system set up to warn residents of bad weather. In terms of tornado frequency, Oklahoma City is the epicenter of tornado alley. In the city of Edmond, tornado sirens are tested the first Saturday of each month, at noon, unless bad weather is imminent. Unlike OKC's warning system, if a siren goes off in Edmond it means residents need to seek shelter immediately.

This warning siren is located on the north side of Oklahoma Christian University, on Smiling Hill Blvd.
