Named to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the University of Vermont's first graduating class, Centennial is actually two fields in one facility. A rectangular field is primarily for collegiate sports such as lacrosse and soccer, while the baseball field is home to the
Vermont Lake Monsters of the New York-Penn League, affiliated with the Oakland Athletics.
It has previously been home of the Burlington Cardinals, Burlington Athletics, Vermont Reds, Vermont Mariners and Vermont Expos.
Notable players who spent time in Centennial Field include Larry Gardner, Ray Collins, Tris Speaker, Jesse Hubbard, Robin Roberts, Kirk McCaskill, Barry Larkin, and Ken Griffey, Jr.
