The Waroona Visitor Centre & Gallery is located at 37 South West Highway, Waroona opposite the Caltex Service Station and is open from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM seven days a week.
To quote The Shire of Waroona:
"Not only will you find local, regional and state information but you can browse the Gallery's extensive range of local art, handcrafts, produce and souvenirs."
Clean and tidy restrooms are located on the outside of the building and there is ample parking beside the centre, as well as in the "Information Bay" next to the parking area where cars with caravans can comfortably park.
Waroona is home to a series of geocaches which lead to GC2N3V3 Bries Waroona Wander - Final Cache By Allys Angels. GC2N3X7 Bries Waroona Wander - Waroona Visitor Centre By Allys Angels is one of ten traditional geocaches required to find the final, and is located at the "Information Bay".
Separate to four geocaches I placed on behalf of the visitor centre there are also two multi caches placed by me in the area, GC2NBF8 WanAus 188 - LKA Waroona and GC2NAG1 WanAus 187 - Waroona Wetland Walk. This provides thirteen geocaches, with the potential for 17 or more, as well as perhaps half a dozen or more waymarks, for visitors to the area to enjoy.
The visitor centre & Gallery are run by the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tracy Goldsworthy, ably supported by Samantha Dunne and a team of volunteers.
Tracy was interested in attracting more visitors to the shire by placing a series of geocaches at several of the attractions in the district, and to this end I visited Tracey and her colleague Jane from the Harvey River Management Group to give some advice, and subsequently placed four caches for them on a two day visit. This is still a 'work in progress', but I look forward to seeing Tracy finish the job and submit the caches for review.
