This Fish Hatchery is located right beside the Napanee River in Springside Park. It was a project started by the Napanee and District Rod and Gun club with the expressed purpose of preparing Walleye and Rainbow Trout eggs and help stock local rivers and streams with fingerlings. The club is actually able to raise Rainbow Trout at the hatchery as it is operated with a cold fresh water supply. Also of note is the fact that over the past few years they have raised over a million fry.
If you're in the area, there are a ton of caches, especially an Earthcache right beside the Hatchery and the falls are absolutely stunning. So do some waymarking, geocaching and perhaps, just relaxing in this beautiful spot. Oh yeah, bring as rod, the fish are always biting.
Cheers
