The town is one of the most significant centres of folk culture in Moravian Slovakia. All the folklore activities in this region have one-hundred-years old history and the traditions have been passed in their living and authentic form from generation to generation up today

Dominating the town is a nice Renaissance town hall with a tower, built by Italian architects between 1561 and 1562 under Mayor Václav Bzenecký. The one-storey building with a high flying parapet, a corner bay and a reconstructed turret was built in the front of the square western line. After the reconstruction in 1721, the turret was completed with a high cupola replaced by the Neo-Renaissance helmet in 1876. At the main portal of the Town Hall is a model of the Bohemian ell that served for verification of the measuring instruments´ accuracy in the adjacent market place.

Kyjov je jedním z nejvýznamnejších center lidové kultury na Slovácku. Folklorní aktivity v tomto regionu mají staletou historii. Tradice byly a jsou predávány v autentické podobe z generace na generaci i dnes.

Dominantou mesta je renesancní radnice s veží, postavená italskými architekty mezi 1561 a 1562 za primátora Václava Bzeneckého. Dvoupatrová budova s s nekolika architektonickými prvky byla postavena v prední cásti námestí na jeho západní strane.

Radnice prošla vetší rekonstrukcí v roku 1721 (byla dokoncena vež s vysokou kopulí) a další rekonstrukcí v roce 1876. Na hlavním portálu radnice je etalon ceské míry 'loktu', který sloužil k overení presnosti prodeje na místním trhu.
