The story the Locals tell is that an advertisment was place in a Russian Newspaper around 1900 that told of very cheap furtile land available in northwest Utah, this was very near the newly completed transcontinental Rail Road, so some familys sold all their belongings to start a new life in America, However, ads that showed lush green fields, were not accurate, the area is very arid and desolate, They tried to make a living there for a few years, but eventualy moved on, The cemetery is all that remains of a part of little known Utah history. Please take care of the area and respect it. I have asked many people about it and so far only found one the even knew of its existance, so it is rarly visited, though it is in good shape, since I was last there (probably ten years ago) there has been a chain link fence put around it, the gate was not locked though, so I think it is mostly to keep cattle from breaking down the old wood fence, the area is remote so have plenty of water and fuel and a good spare tire, on my GPS it shows a small hill just west of the Cemetery being named Russian Knoll Enjoy!
