Traveling down an old logging road in rural St. Helena Parish, I stumbled upon this abandoned cemetery with some amazing history.

This Kemp cemetery is listed as being in Hillsdale, although it is some 6 miles from that crossroad village. I was actually attempting to locate this cemetery and an unmarked Vault of Judge William Breed Kemp, supposedly to be in the same area. This cemetery was not where it was supposed to be, and as I was turning around, I saw 1 small headstone that opened up into this cemetery.
Interesting history is there is an American Revolutionary War veteran buried in this cemetery.
Earliest Burial: 12/09/1814

Latest Burial: 07/30/1878
