This flagpole is now sited at the Battle of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne, Kent, CT18 7JJ.
It was originally sited at RAF Biggin Hill, a famous WW2 airfield.

A small plaque beneath the flagpole is inscribed;

THIS FLAGPOLE WAS DISMANTLED AT THE / TIME OF THE CLOSURE OF / RAF BIGGIN HILL / IN KENT IN 1992.

IT STANDS AS A SENTINEL TO THIS MEMORIAL / AND SERVES FOREVER AS A PERPETUAL LINK / WITH ALL FIGHTER STATIONS FROM WHICH / RAF SQUADRONS FLEW IN / THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN.
