The day of Alistair and Judith’s wedding approaches. In a re-run of Rocky and Madge’s wedding the best man breaks a leg and a replacement is called for. Lionel cannot oblige as he is giving Judith away. Eventually it is decided that Rocky will be best man.
There are some doubts about Alistair’s health. He had been having panic attacks and took some medicine for it. Unfortunately the medicine had a side effect whereby Alistair would burst into tears at anything emotional. He now has different medicine, which hopefully will be OK. However, at the last minute, Alistair’s legs go wobbly on him. A stiff word from Jean gets him moving again.
The wedding goes smoothly at the same church as that of Rocky and Madge, in reality St John the Baptist, Aldenham. At the reception everyone tries to get Sandy and Nick back together. Nick is being seconded to the Mounties in Canada, but hasn’t had the nerve to ask Sandy to go with him. Rocky, Lionel and Jean each ply him with drink and he unfortunately passes out before he can ask Sandy.
