Here's an abandoned old wooden railroad bridge that crosses the IL Prairie Trail near Ringwood, IL. It originally crossed the train tracks to allow access to a farm, that is now completely gone. You can visit the bridge from the Prairie Trail crossing and School Road in Ringwood. It's about .6 mile. From Rt 31 and Dakota Rd you can see a double row of old shade trees that once lined the lane going back to the farm on the other side of the tracks. Now its full of brush and overgrown weeds. There's a business driveway with a parking area, that I used to get to the top of the bridge for pictures.

Originally there were 3 of these old wooden bridges on the railroad from Ringwood thru Richmond. Another one still stands in Richmond and is now closed to traffic.
