Description of Memorial:
Marker is in Whitmire, South Carolina, in Newberry County. Marker is on Cemetery Road, in the median. In Whitmire Cemetery. There are 7 flag poles in a half circle behind the marker, These are for the US Flag, the military branch flags, and the POW MIA flag. This is a well taken care of memorial that is a great reminder of how thankful we should be to those who fought and gave their lives for the freedoms that we enjoy today.
