The little one-room schoolhouse was built around 1900 in the district of Alaska, not far from O'Leary, in prince Edward Island. With consolidation of schools it closed in 1972, In 1975 it was moved to the museum site at Centennial Park in O'Leary. While in use it housed students from Grade one to ten inclusive.
The schoolhouse has been restored and is known as the "Little Red Schoolhouse".
I was visiting with my Aunt after visiting the schoolhouse and discovered she went to this schoolhouse when it was still being used.
Note: If anyone can find the original location in Alaska, PEI I'd love to include a picture.
