The Poilon, an impressive kapok tree, probably one of the oldest trees in Cape Verde.

Only a few kilometers from Assomada, in the center of Santigo island, the Poilon marks the local landscape. The tree is truly impressive and worth a visit. There are no signs pointing the way, so if you have some trouble finding the route, just ask to a local person and they will happily show you the way to the tree.
