This large quartzite boulder and plaque are located on the grounds (southwest corner) of the Leavenworth County Courthouse - 300 Walnut Street. The boulder was deposited into a Kansas field due to glaciation during the Ice Age. The plaque on the boulder reads:

Quartzite Boulder of the Glacial Age

Donated for the Bicentennial Year 1976 by
Mr. and Mrs. William McNamee
From their farm located in the SE 1/4 of Sec. 8 Twp. 10 R-22-E
Leavenworth County Kansas

No other information was found on the boulder.
