This column helps us to remember the many strikers who were killed in the "huelga" which occurred in this textile factory town in 1916.

In the small town of Bellavista, Mexico, the former textile factory is now a museum...a memorial to the workers who died here fighting for their union,
The town square has a pillar in its center with a plaque which reads:

LA FUNDACION EN ESE LUGAR
DEL PRIMER SINDICATO OBRERO

SE DECLARO MONUMENTO HISTORICO
DEL ESTADO, LIBRE Y
SOBERANO DE NAYARIT.
