Long Description:
A small town in Lyman County, South Dakota, along Interstate 90, Presho was named for J.S. Presho, an early settler from New York who arrived in the area in 1858. German, Norwegian, Irish, Czech, English, and Dutch immigrants settled in the area and the town was incorporated on February 14, 1910.

Presho was the home of Clint Roberts, US Congressman from District 2.

Its population was 497 in 2010 and reflects a decrease in population of about 15% from the 2000 census.
