Long Description:
Created between 1983 and 1988 The Son of Man is made from bronze and is 7ft 7ins high. It was unveiled after the artist's death by James Butler RA and was dedicated by the Archbishop of Canterbury Dr. Robert Runcie on 8th October 1988.

The position of the statue is in the Precincts, towards the east end of the Cathedral.
