Due to its proximity to the military installation of Yongsan with its large American population, several hotels catering to foreign tourists, such as the nearby Hamilton Hotel, Itaewon has become a magnet for tourist, expats and businesses for foreigners. In recent years there has been a large influx of people from the Middle East and North Africa. Korea's only mosque is located in Itaewon.
With this international mix of expatriates and visitors has come the presences of restaurants with cuisine from around the world. Although Thai restaurants are becoming more popular throughout the country, this one consistently gets high reviews for authenticity and quality of food. The prices are also reasonable for this area which tends to by pricey across the board, as one might expect.
