It first operated as the Enid Weekly Eagle from 1893-1899, then as the Sun Eagle and the Enid Eagle.

From 1901-1989, a weekday publication known as the Enid Daily Eagle was published. The daily publication known as the Daily News & Eagle has been published since 1989. Additional papers were merged in February 1923 under the Enid Publishing Company organization.
