Mohawk College is a College of Applied Arts & Technology. Established in 1967 (Canada's Centennial) along with 24 other colleges, Mohawk College is a partially government funded college.
The college offers a variety of courses ranging from Hospitality to Nursing. This makes the college perfect for students looking to get credits before moving to McMaster University (also in Hamilton)
Mohawk is split into three main campuses. Fennell, Brantford and STARRT (Stoney Creek campus). There is also a joint Mohawk-McMaster Institute for Applied Health Sciences. Fennell campus is located on the corner of West 5th and Fennell St.
Features of Fennell include the Mohawk Mountaineers gym where a large amount of college sports are played, several restaurants including The Arnie, The Cellar, Subway, Starbucks, and two Tim Hortons restaurants. The college also has a new $16.5 million dollar library building and many renovations ongoing throughout the campus.
