You are standing at the site of a ghost town. Before you once lied the hamlet of Reynaud that bustled during the '30s and '60s as a result of the railway. The hamlet was named after Jean Francois Reynaud who was one of the first settlers to the area in the late 1890s.
Reynaud was also home to Shannon Lake School. You will see the monument representing the school to the north at the foot of the driveway to a farmstead. Visitors are welcome to stop and visit the monument.
