Hrbitov vznikl v polovine 17. století, kdy daroval hrabe Magnis Židum cást pozemku prímo u židovské ctvrti. V prubehu 18. století byly na nový hrbitov preneseny starší náhrobky ze hrbitova puvodního, který se dríve zrejme nacházel prímo v zástavbe strážnického Starého mesta.
The cemetery was founded in the 17th century, when Jews gave Earl Magnis part of the land directly at the Jewish quarter. During the 18th century, there were transferred to tombstones from the earlier original cemetery, which used to be probably on the territory the Old Town Strážnice.
