The John Veeder Building also known as the Dold Block at 1815 West Plaza was built in 1881 for Andres Dold who was one of the wealthiest men in New Mexico in his era. The building was designed by Charles Wheelock. Originally it housed Brownlee, Winters & Co., Druggists until the building was sold to Attorney John De Witt Veeder.
The two story brick front building is in a fairly ornate Italianate style. The building features sandstone hoods over round-top windows. It has a pressed metal cornice with brackets and urns. It also has a cast-iron balcony.
The building was built with commercial space on the first floor and residential apartment on the second.
The building appears to be in excellent condition and currently vacant.
