In 1876 Rev. Roman Scholter became the pastor and built a school, a rectory and enlarged the Church building. The school was served by the Ursuline Sisters.

In 1876 the parishioners of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Seymour, WI built a school and has expanded the building many time in the past 130 years until it closed in 2006 due to declining enrollment. The school building no longer has a Catholic School but now serves as a parish and community center.
