The Montefiore Cemetery is behind the Masonic Cemetery. It dates to the late 1800's when there was a growing Jewish population in Las Vegas. Many of the early Jewish settlers were merchants and traders from Germany and eastern European countries. The cemetery with a couple hundred graves had deteriorated and been vandalized over the years however in the last twenty years or so a restoration and maintenance effort has taken place.
