This sign shows a very realistic looking unicorn in the middle of a dark wood. Well at least as realistic as a mythical creature can be.

Although most people think of Unicorns as Mediaeval mythical creatures, on UK pub signs they are usually used as heraldic references to depict Scotland.

I would prefer to think that in this case having gone to the trouble of painting a realistic looking beast in the middle of a wood rather than a stylised version that this artist is thinking of the mythical beast that can only be captured by virgins.

Anyway for those people that don’t know, a Unicorn is a breed of horse that has a long sharp horn in the centre of its head.
