Earlywine Park is a huge city park on the south side of Oklahoma City. On the east side of the park, a very large YMCA stands at the May Avenue entrance.
In a circular island, surrounded by a flower garden and driveways, this four-faced clock welcomes visitors to the park and the Y. These clocks were made available for sale as a way to celebrate Oklahoma Statehood. They were purchased by many towns and businesses, and schools. It is always a pleasure to stumble upon one of these in your travels.
This clock has four inscriptions - one above each face. "MIND", "BODY" and "SPIRIT" - the focuses of the mission of the YMCA. Above the fourth clock face is "JOHN 17:21". This refers to the Scripture which reads: "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
