This exact replica of one of the locomotives present at the Golden Spike ceremony of May 10, 1869 is on static display in the maintenance shed during winter months.

The replica locomotives which are active at the Golden Spike National Historic Site during summer months are kept under cover during winter months and inclement weather. Rangers escort visitors from the Visitor Center to the maintenance shed for viewing of the locomotives and a ranger-led tour of the facility.
