Kilchberg Castle is going back to a late medieval moated castle of the 15th to 18th Century.
It is noteworthy that the foundations are still intact in Stauffer period main castle. It is one of the rare instances of a octagonal castle. With this foundation established by George Ehingen towards the end of the 15th Century late Gothic stone house, preserving the octagonal castle moat.
