This methodist turned United Church was built in 1882. The 128 year old church has an even older bell. The bell was first used to warn ships in Port Colborne but was bought and moved to East Main St Church before being moved to the current location. The church was built by Mackus Vanderburg. The building underwent a major fire in 1907, damaging much of the interior. Later that year after being restored, the building was blown apart in an gas pipe explosion. Luckily the original bell tower and date stone remains.
