This area is all that remains of the former Junction Lock of the Feeder Canal. Built in 1845, the lock allowed boats and barges to enter the Welland Canal. The Feeder Canal was an older canal which stretched all the way to Dunnville. This canal lock operated until 1914. Today all that remains are a the cement walls of the lock and some of the metal pieces. A plaque was placed by the Welland Historical Society in 2002.
