This two-story stucco-clad building was constructed in the early 20th Century as the Billings Theater. It presented vaudeville and other live performances.
Over the next fifty years, it housed the Criterion Movie House, the Chief Movie Theater and in the mid-1970s, the Cinema Twin. It is currently the home of the Gaslight Theater, which has occupied the building since 1989 offering live performances.
The building has stucco-covered veneer with a red tile hipped roof, projecting from the facade and supported by large brackets. The marquee is two-sided, with stick-on lettering. It is supported by tie-rods.
This building has operated almost continuously over the past ninety years as a movie house or live performance theater.
