The Mills House was built in 1877. The house is a three story adobe house in an combination of styles including Greek Revival and Second Empire. The house has 20 rooms and was the ranch home for Melvin Mill who was an attorney who served as Mexico Legislator and the District Attorney. He was a community leader and was involved in platting the town of Springer.
