Memorial is a portion of a tree trunk with branch cut off as short stubs with an inscribed plaque with a listing of the veterans. On top is a brass eagle.

The memorial is in front of the former Colfax County Courthouse in Springer. It is under a pavilion with several other memorials thus the wood is protected from the weather.
