The restaurant was conceived in 1972 by local fisherman Salvador Real. He and his wife sold fish in the lagoon of the local market back then. Today it is run by his son and ten others of the family. In all the restaurant employs over 100 people.
It seats 450 on what today is the ground floor and 350 on the upper deck. In the past there was a lower deck but high waters of the mid 2000's forced that level to be closed to the public and remodeled. today only the restrooms that served that floor are open to the public. Despite loosing nearly a third of its seating to flooding business still flourishes. On Saturdays and Sundays it is usually pretty full in the afternoon. They serve over 80 different dishes.
