The mosaic was created by UNF Art and Design Associate Professor Nofa Dixon and the students in her Mosaic Project class. The mosaic was installed on one of the 24-foot tall columns in Alumni Square to help beautify some of the architectural columns on campus.
The mosaic depicts a beach scene, with a surfer riding the ocean waves under a blue sky with a gull flying overhead. An egret walks along the shoreline.
