The clock below the tower commemorates the 250th anniversary of the foundation of the original Grand Lodge on 24th June 1717. The clock is at the centre of the decorative panel that you can see in the photo, above the columns flanking the entrance. The dates 1717 and 1967 surround the clock face.
The clock has a square stone face with black, triangular marks in the four corners. There are no minute marks. The hour marks are simple lines carved into the clock face with the marks at 3, 6, 9 and 12 being twice as long as the other hour marks. The marks are coloured gold. The outside edges of these marks form a circle. The hands are simple in design and are coloured gold.
