This wooden fisherman was hand carved probably by the owner of the home, who once sold his creations at this location.

In North Kingstown, along Ten Rod Road and near the intersection with U.S. Route 1, is a wooden statue of a fisherman holding the mailbox.
The figure is a little smaller than life-sized, and stands on a small wood box framed base. The man is in the traditional 'Gloucester' fisherman stereotypical raincoat and hat, with large black galoshes. The head has large, white eyes, and a shaggy white beard. The mailbox is at his waist on the left side.
I was told by a local source that composition was hand carved by the owner of the house (not sure if the owner stll lives there). At one time, there were several sculptures offered for sale, but later had to remove them.
