One of the 30 cobblestones that can be found in Monroe County. This one was nearly swallowed up by additions... on all side except the front facade. A brick building to the south, a commercial laundramat to the north, and wood extensions behind.

I've included one picture of the back... you can just see some of the upper story cobblestone over the wood frame additions in the upper right of the picture.
Some of the variations in cobblestone can be seen in this Federal style building. For starters, there are full stone lintels over windows and doors. The quoins on this building are larger than the 8x12 that are more common in this area. There are five rows of 2 1/2 inch cobbles (medium) per quoin, but the stones visible at the back are larger, with only 3 rows per quoin.
