This Victorian building, dated 1886, replaced a fine Elizabethan timber frame building. It was built for the  Filmer Bros., local Miller's and Baker's but also a corn, seed and fodder merchant. The builder was from the Isle of Thanet where Dutch gable buildings were a common site, influenced by the many such buildings in Sandwich and surrounding areas. Currently the premises are being used as a Butcher's shop.
