The red brick Jeffersonian style church is distinct architecture, but the congregation has limited activity.

While not an architect, propose that this building has element which remind me of Thomas Jefferson's designs. In early 20th century when Erwin was booming from selling lumber taken off the surrounding mountains.
The church website from 2008 is now inactive. Could not find any on-line information to reference.
Sunday School at 9:45AM. Worship at 11AM.
