Zippy is walking through the streets of Canterbury where the city is a maze of
technological advances with live streaming feeds and video content. He just
wants to take a break from this life but then is stuck as he just needs his
log-in details and is now "Logged Out".
Canterbury is a city renowned for its majestic Cathedral and tales of Chaucer.
The city was originally a Brythonic settlement then it was renamed Durovernum
Cantiacorum by the Roman conquerors in the 1st century AD. The city became a
pilgrimage site after Thomas Becket's murder at Canterbury Cathedral in 1170. It
was this murder that Chaucer based his Canterbury Tales upon.
The
giant mask, officially called 'Bulkhead', is a creation of sculptor Rick Kirby.
It stood on the forecourt of the old Marlowe Theatre from 2003 until the theatre
was demolished to make way for a new, modern Marlowe Theatre. In April 2012,
'Bulkhead' was moved from it's temporary site at Canterbury City Council offices
in Military Road, to a new outdoor seating area alongside the Marlowe Theatre.
Google Earth currently shows 'Bulkhead' and the old Marlowe Theatre.
