Marker along the driveway of the historic site.

In memory of William Hodge Barnhill, his family and descendants. Here on his homeplace April 3, 1864 he and his sons buried a Confederate soldier killed by Union forces. This gravesite ws maintained by the Barnhill family for 98 years.
